Every day our law enforcement officers risk their lives to keep our communities safe. Sometimes, unfortunately, that risk becomes a reality. These fallen officers deserve to be recognized for their ultimate sacrifice. The proposed memorial, which would be located at Soldiers Field in Rochester, will help us honor and remember our heroes. Your support of the Southeast Minnesota Law Enforcement Memorial is needed and would be greatly appreciated, not only by the loved ones of these officers, but also the law enforcement community and beyond.
Soldiers Field in Rochester, Minnesota, will be the location of the memorial (7th Street SW and George Gibbs Dr. SW). The memorial will be a nice addition to the park because a Veterans Memorial is already at Soldiers Field. It is a beautiful space with many trees and it is a peaceful place to honor and remember the fallen officers and veterans.
The goal is to have this built by 2021.
This will depend how fast money is raised though (we've raised approximately $175,000). Estimated costs are still being solidified.
This memorial will be dedicated to all law enforcement, part-time, reserve and corrections officers killed or died in the line of duty from law enforcement and corrections agencies within the Minnesota Sheriff's Association Sixth District of Southeast Minnesota.
